We love the classic design of the Elysée Chair by French designer Pierre Paulin.
The Elysée Chair was designed and conceived for the Elysée palance under G. Pompidou in 1972. Pierre Paulin was trained under Parisian designer Marcel Gascion. His work was influenced by the Scandinavian aesthetic as well as American pre-fabricated designs by Charles and Ray Eames and Florence Knoll.
Also known as the “pumpkin” armchairs and sofa, the “Elysée” pieces are nothing less than works of arts. They are now manufactured and sold by Ligne Roset. They are available as an armchair with or without headrest, loveseat, sofa and ottoman.
