Last week I had the chance to visit La Casa Azul, Frida Kahlo's infamous Blue House. Now turned into an art musueum, the beautiful house with its cobalt-blue walls was Frida Kalho's birth place, the home she grew up in, as well as the home she shared with her husband Diego rivera from 1929 until her death in 1954.
The house is filled with some of Frida's most beautiful artworks, Diego's sculptures and artifacts as well as some of the couple's most precious artifacts, personal items and memorabilia. It is so inspiring to see where Frida lived, loved and created so much beauty. Her atelier / art studio remains exactly as it was before her death and with it's beautiful windows facing the beautiful inner courtyard was my favourite room of the house.
La Casa Azul is located in the Colonia del Carmen neighborhood of Coyoacán in Mexico City.
