Kitchen Wall Decor Ideas

The kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s where we gather to cook, eat, and spend time with family and friends. And it’s where we often spend the most time during the day. So why not make it a space that reflects your unique style and personality? Here are 5 on-trend kitchen wall decor ideas we LOVE:

1-Kitchen Wall Decor: Art Prints

One of the easiest ways to do this is with kitchen wall art. Wall art can make a big impact in small spaces, and it’s a great way to express your personal style. It can also be a fun and creative way to spruce up your kitchen.

So...should you hang art in the kitchen? You bet! Art in the kitchen can add warmth and personality to the room. It can also help you relax while you're cooking—and who doesn't need that? The answer is yes—you absolutely should hang art in your kitchen! What looks good on a kitchen wall? You'll want to go for pieces that have bright colors, because kitchens tend to be very bright spaces with lots of natural light pouring in through windows. You might also want to choose something abstract and colorful if you're trying to create an inviting atmosphere for guests who come over to cook with you!

2-Kitchen wall decor: Square tile Backsplash

For decades, subway tile has dominated showers and kitchen backsplashes, but square tile is back in a HUGE way! You have all most probably seen how popular tiled coffee tables have been the last few years on Instagram and TikTok. The creative concept of tiled furniture originated in the 1960s with Superstudio, an Italian architecture and design firm inspired by science fiction and urbanism. Although there were outdoor pieces that had some type of tiling back then, usually just tabletops, it wasn't until 2020 that Ikon København, a Copenhagen based interior brand, went viral on TikTok and modernized the idea. Their new vision went further to include consoles, side tables, coffee tables, and even pedestals whose entire surfaces are adorned with square tiles of all colors. In 2023, the trend extended to kitchen backsplashes, and we absolutely love it.

You can give a classic white tile a fun twist by using a color grout that isn't simply white, grey or black. In a kitchen backsplash, the grout rather than the tile becomes the focus of attention, tying in with the wall paint and giving the simple white tile a fun new look, like this gorgeous pink grout below, in Lindsay Isla's gorgeous kitchen. The backsplash itself becomes a statement kitchen wall decor.

How cool is this white square tile backsplash with contrasting blue grout?

Or make your kitchen backsplash with a cool checkerboard pattern, choose your colors, this will add a TON of personality to your kitchen. We love this one by London based interior designer Emma Ainscaugh.

3-Kitchen wall decor: A pink wavy backsplash

Bringing your kitchen to life doesn't have to be expensive – we've found this gorgeous pink wavy backsplash by @HerrKlar. It is a unique kitchen wall decor, and believe it or not, it's a DIY so you can make it yourself!

How to find cool kitchen wall art

There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for kitchen wall art. First, consider the overall style of your kitchen. Is it modern or traditional, does it have a Danish pastel aesthetics or more farmhouse? What colors dominate the space? Once you have a sense of the style you're going for, it's time to start shopping! The Printable Concept offers a wide selection of both printed art prints and printable wall art.

When choosing kitchen wall art, it's important to select pieces that complement the other elements in the room. Consider both the color and subject matter of each piece. For example, if your kitchen has a lot of pastel tones, you might want to choose artwork with similar colors. Or, if you have a collection of cooking-related items on display, look for artwork that depict scenes from the kitchen or still lifes of food. Most importantly, don't be afraid to mix and match! A well-curated gallery wall can be a beautiful addition to any kitchen.
